Yá’át’ééh- Hello!
My name is Jessica Jonkman.
I am a member of the Diné (Navajo) tribe and grew up on the Diné Reservation in Northern Arizona. My parents own a retail store on the reservation. I grew up surrounded by the beautiful artwork of my people.
I now live in Albuquerque, New Mexico with my 3 children. My youngest was born in 2015 and we quickly learned she was born with Down Syndrome. As my focus shifted to becoming a full-time caretaker I also wondered what the future would hold for my own career.
In 2020, I began my journey in silversmithing. I now create small batch one-of-a-kind items for sale.
I am inspired by my Diné heritage and feel extremely blessed to carry on the tradition of silversmithing.
